Care provided by Eddie Hughes, FNP-BC. Updated October 2026.
Finding medical weight loss in Greeneville with labs, body scans, and one provider who follows you the whole way can take some looking. That is why many Greene County patients make the drive up 11E to Johnson City.
At Peak Performance Wellness & Aesthetics, Eddie Hughes, FNP-BC, starts with your bloodwork and a body composition scan, so you finally know why the weight has not moved. When it fits your health history, he prescribes semaglutide or tirzepatide.
Most patients pay $200 to $500 a month, with no contract.
Five questions to ask any weight loss clinic
Ask these wherever you go, including here. If a clinic closer to home in Greeneville answers all five well, that may be the easier choice.
01
Who prescribes, and will I see them again?
At PeakEddie prescribes and stays your provider, at your first visit and every follow-up, so you never start over with someone new.
02
Do you check my labs before you prescribe?
At PeakMost patients start with thyroid, blood sugar, hormone, vitamin D, B vitamin, and iron labs, so the plan fits what your body is actually doing.
03
Do you measure muscle, or only weight?
At PeakWe scan body composition at your visits, so you can see fat coming off and muscle staying on, even when the scale is slow.
04
What will it cost each month?
At PeakMost patients pay $200 to $500, and semaglutide starts at $200. Labs are priced on their own. No contract and no cancellation fee.
05
Do you offer brand-name medication?
At PeakEddie can prescribe FDA-approved Wegovy or Zepbound. If a compounded option ever comes up, he explains what it is and why before you decide.
In person, or one of the online programs?
Online GLP-1 programs ship to Greeneville, and they work for some people. Here is what changes when you come in instead.
| Peak in Johnson City | Online-only programs | |
|---|---|---|
| Who you see | Eddie Hughes, FNP-BC, in person, every visit | A questionnaire or video visit, often with whoever is available |
| Labs | Most patients start with bloodwork, read with you | Varies by program |
| Body composition | Scanned at your visits | Not possible from home |
| Dose changes | Based on how you feel, your weight, and your scans | Usually based on what you report |
| When a week goes badly | Call the office that knows your plan | Usually a message in an app |
Compounded medications are not FDA approved, and FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are sold. That is true online and in person, so ask any program what you are actually getting.
The drive from Greeneville, and how often you make it
Greeneville to Peak
40 to 45 min
- Greeneville
- Chuckey
- Limestone
- Past Jonesborough
- 3980 Bristol Hwy
Stay on US-11E the whole way. It runs north through Johnson City and becomes Bristol Highway, and we are on it.
Your first visit covers your evaluation, labs, scan, and plan in about 45 to 60 minutes. After that, follow-ups and dose changes on a schedule Eddie sets with you.
We teach you to give your weekly injection yourself, so your dose never needs a trip.
Side effects, a stall, a refill question. Call or message the office, so small problems get handled without a drive.
We are open until 6 PM on Thursdays, so you can come after work. When the schedule has room, we can often see you the day you call.
Which one sounds like you?
You have done the diets. The weight keeps coming back.
That is not a willpower problem. Eat less for long enough and your body answers with more hunger and a slower burn. Effort alone loses that fight for most people.
Your first visit starts with labs and a body composition scan, so the plan is built around what your body is doing, not another meal plan to white-knuckle through.
You started somewhere else and want someone to actually watch it.
Bring what you take, your current dose, and how it has been going. Eddie reviews your history and labs and decides whether to continue, adjust, or change medications.
From there you get in-person follow-ups and scans, so your dose is set by more than a checkbox. See how tirzepatide and semaglutide compare.
Nothing changed except your body.
Hormone shifts in perimenopause and menopause change where weight goes and how hard it is to lose. A GLP-1 alone does not always address that.
Eddie also focuses on hormone optimization, so you can work on both in one place. Read about menopause weight gain treatment.
Fair. Here it is.
Most patients pay $200 to $500 a month, depending on medication and dose. Semaglutide starts at $200. That covers your evaluation, medication, follow-ups, nutrition guidance, and body composition scans.
Labs are priced on their own. There is no contract, no cancellation fee, and no package to buy up front, so you are never locked into something that is not working.
Semaglutide and tirzepatide
Both are weekly injections that turn down hunger and help you stay full on less. Semaglutide is the active ingredient in Wegovy and Ozempic. Tirzepatide is in Zepbound and Mounjaro, and acts on a second appetite hormone.
In their main trials, adults lost about 15 percent of their starting weight on average with semaglutide 2.4 mg over 68 weeks, and about 21 percent on the top dose of tirzepatide over 72 weeks. Compounded versions were not studied, and your results depend on your dose, consistency, and body.
Compare them on our GLP-1 weight loss medications page.
What a few months can look like
Most patients notice the food noise fade first. Meals get smaller without a fight, and you stop planning the day around the next one.
Then it shows up in ordinary places. A walk down Main Street without looking for a bench. Keeping up with the kids at Kinser Park. Clothes that fit the way they used to.
For some, it is the blood pressure or blood sugar numbers they already watch with their regular doctor. That is what we build toward with you.
